The new Great Barrier Filter has antimicrobial protection built-in to inhibit growth of bacteria that can cause stains, odors and degradation of the filter surface. Microban's continuous cleaning action makes the spa filter easier to clean, keeps it fresher between cleanings and lasts the life of the filter. The filter should be replaced at least once a year.
Clean your filter at least once a month depending on usage. Remove the filter in warm water, then remove the outer sock and wash out any build-up in the paper folds. You can easily and effictively clean your filter by running it through the dish washer on a rinse cycle; (do not use soap).
